Allah is All Forgiving

Photo from here.

We human beings are always commiting sins, either minor or major ones. We are not protected (ma'sum) from committing sins as all the Prophets and Messengers of Allah are. The best people of those who commit the sins are the people who make repentance (taubah), acknowledge all the sins they have committed, and truly believe that there is only Allah, no god but Him, and He is The One who can forgive the sins or punish them because of those sins.

This is what had been said by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), as in the following hadeeth:

An-Nawawi’s Hadith No.42

On the authority of Anas (Radhiallaho anha) who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) saying:

Allah the Almighty has said:"O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it."

Related by at-Tirmidhi, who stated that it was a Hasan (fair) and Sahih (sound) Hadith.

May Allah make us the people who always make taubah, and are forgiven by Allah for all the sins that have been committed.

Al-Faqir ilaLlah al-Ghaffar,

Mohd Ikhwan bin Ahmad Zhaki
